Brian was born in Lerwick, in 1961.
Brought up on the island of Yell, from a musical family,
Brian started playing the guitar at the age of 12.
At one time Brian received fiddle lessons from the late
Dr.Tom Anderson, but his fiddling was so bad that Tom
would get Brian to accompany the others on the guitar.
Brian played with "Da Fustra" Scottish dance
band at the age of 15, and then went on to form HOM BRU
with the others when he was only 17.
